TechniCon Announces Release of ContentStudio

New Catalog Management System to Complement TechniCon's Award-Winning CustomCommerce Product
For Immediate Release
EMERYVILLE, CA, July 16, 2001-TechniCon, a leading provider of e-commerce solutions for complex products, has released ContentStudio, a new product that lets content stakeholders, such as marketing and engineering staff, manage online product catalogs.
ContentStudio replaces TechniCon's earlier Windows-based Catalog Builder application. Retaining Catalog Builder's ability to leverage legacy data to quickly populate online catalogs, ContentStudio adds functionality and ease-of-use.
ContentStudio provides a full-featured, Web-based content management system for adding and editing data in online catalogs. Employing an easy-to-use "Windows Explorer"-type interface with drag and drop functionality, ContentStudio eliminates the need for programmers and special production staff to manage the content and appearance of online catalogs
Web-based, ContentStudio can be run anywhere from industry-standard browsers, encouraging collaborative content management from geographically dispersed offices. Authentication features control content access and publication, assigning users roles-based rights as editors, viewers and administrators.
Designed specifically to manage complex product data, the ContentStudio data model accommodates all attributes and behaviors of a product. ContentStudio also supports complex pricing models that allow multiple price lists to be associated with any product option, including customer-specific pricing and tiered discounting.
ContentStudio simplifies the creation of customized product catalogs. Purchase order data, such as order SIF files, can be imported into online catalogs. Vendors can use these catalogs to offer their clients completely personalized e-commerce Web sites for purchasing additional items.
"ContentStudio integrates seamlessly with our e-commerce solution, CustomCommerce," said Anthony Mirante, President of TechniCon. "For years, CustomCommerce has been an industry leader in technology and ease-of-use. Now, we can say the same about our catalog management solution."
