GLOSSARY

Legacy-to-Web
Legacy-to-web is a general term used to describe the process of moving existing (i.e. legacy) applications and data to the Internet.
Populating catalogs can be one of the most time-consuming parts of an e-commerce initiative. However, manufacturers often have this catalog data stored in a variety of formats on existing information systems.
To minimize the need to recreate content, legacy-to-web data transformation tools repurpose existing product information for use in online catalog and product configuration applications.
TechniCon's legacy-to-web tools extract and fine-tune product content from all standard formats, including text, CSV, SIF, PDF and CAD data. Online catalogs can be "bulk-loaded" from legacy product data for quick deployment.
Legacy-to-web also refers to the integration of existing internal systems with online applications, e.g. integrating ERP systems with online catalogs to supply pricing information.
TechniCon's ContentStudio catalog management application is easily customized to allow input from legacy systems.
